March Madness

Spring is here! Spring is here!! It was so warm last Sunday, what a great day to enjoy the sunshine and play together, and by play, I mean look for bugs and make them new homes :)

We watched Soul Surfer--Best. Movie. Ever!! I loved the realness (yes, we fact checked when the movie was over), the life messiness, the courage, the faith, the inspiration. Everything about it!! And then the girls surfed on pillows for an hour! And then again the next day, too (notice Aubrey has an arm tucked in like its missing like the girl in the movie).

So Spring didn't stick around for this weekend....it was gorgeous weather all week and then rainy today. So the girls played outside till they got too cold, then took baths and put on warm jammies and played games for a while by the fire. Love this!!

Aubrey has an obsession with my boots!!!

Playing with barbies and pollies in the bubbles entertained Aubrey for hours this afternoon!

Gracie was doing "science" which means who only knows what kind of concoction!!! And Kaylee was building an "obstacle course" for a ball. These girls are so creative!!!

Happy Birthday, Kaylee!!!

Wow! Kaylee is ten!!! When did that happen? She is so smart and sweet just amazes me every day!!

So Kaylee celebrated with her friends a few weeks earlier and we went to another IHOP birthday dinner.....so we put candles in the oatmeal brulee in the morning....lesson learned, candles in hot oatmeal will melt! But it was yummy!! And then we tried again with her apple pie on Sunday that she requested since she was a little caked out!

I'll have to post some pics when we get her room done. She wanted to redo it, and everyone chipped in. She got bedding from Gma and Gpa Timmons, Gma & Gpa Peterson gave her $$ for a beanbag, Uncle Ted sent her a new pillow and wall decor, and I've been spray-painting her desk and shelf and hanging new curtains as well as getting her all organized. She is loving having her own space and getting it just the way she wants. Thanks, everyone!

Not a snow day!

More snow! And no rain this time!! Yay!!

Sledding and snowmen....and on time school!!! No late start, nothing! So we had to play before heading out for the day....and we did, and had a great time!

This one is for everyone who has made fun of me having my snowmen still up in my front planter. They are super cute and I just didn't want to take them down yet. And besides, it is technically still winter! As evidenced by the real life snowman posing with them!!!

Bored by snowmen, Gracie built a snow BIKE.

And rode it.

Kaylee sledded....and sledded....and sledded.....

Utah

I had the opportunity to head to Utah for a few days....haven't been there since Kaylee was a baby! I got lucky and had nice weather the entire time. Gorgeous sunshine when I left PDX all the way to Salt Lake...blue skies all weekend till Monday when I left and landed in the sun at home. Great weekend seeing some friends and checking out places I'd never been (or don't remember being).

View of Bachelor and Three Sisters from the plane. Yes, I know I'm a dork, but I thought it was cool!

Went to the Olympics Museum in Park City....Fun to explore there, I took this pic for my daredevil Grace, who I'm sure will be doing heart-stopping tricks like this one day!

Ski jumps....thought it was pretty cool that they use these in the summer into the pool! Who knew? And there were some lugers running while we were there too.

Gorgeous views!!!

More Birthday Fun!

The girls have been wanting to have a party at Golden Skate for well, forever. So I finally gave in this year and they had a joint party with both girls inviting some friends. Of course, Aubrey thought it was for her, too. So I humored her by putting her name on the cake, and we even sang to her and let her blow out candles too. Three rounds of candles make them pretty short! They had a great time :)

Check it out....Birthday cake number three this year and I finally used a tip to decorate! Not half bad, either.

Long Beach, oh how I've missed you!

Anyone who know me knows that I will never turn down an opportunity to go to the beach. And this was no exception! So fun to see my friend Season and swim, yes swim, in an outdoor pool at the WorldMark with my sis and her family. Got to catch up a bit with my neice on the way home (the reason for the trip) and play games and hit the beach. What a great day! Even if I did get a (well-deserved) ticket on the way there.

This was pretty funny! Thank you, Jayden for teaching my daughters what it would be like to have a brother! I owe you one!

Notice the keep out is gone now that the frog is done. Cute.

Funniest part of the day. Kaylee (in snow boots) and Ethan (in soaked tennis shoes) strolling up the beach river. All of a sudden, Kaylee started screaming and jumping up and down because her feet got cold and wet all at once. Soooooo funny!!!!! Okay, maybe that makes me a bad mom, but I'm snickering about it even now.

Happy Birthday, Aubrey!

I'm still in shock that my baby is FOUR!!! Where did the last few years go? They've been full and busy and in some ways feel like a lifetime has passed, but FOUR? Really?

She wanted a cake with flowers and a fairy. Since her birthday fell in the middle of a crazy busy week, I picked up this little one from the bakery at work and added a Polly with a wand. She loved it!

Love the look here! Must've really liked the Pollys from her sisters!

Showing off her new dress up shoes and Rapunzel dress from Gma and Gpa Peterson

Showing off her new clothes from Gma and Gpa Timmons

This was her actual birthday. We went out to dinner at IHOP so we could at least recognize the actual day! And then she loved that she got to play with her friends at church while I had a meeting. Lol.
